Session – Innovative Solar Solutions for Nonprofits

GBCI & AIA Approval Pending

Nonprofit organizations sit in a challenging position to take full advantage of solar benefits. From lacking a tax appetite to take advantage of tax credits to complexity of the internal capacity needed for managing a solar project, nonprofits need convenient and attractive solutions for implementing solar.  This session will cover a breadth of innovative options that ease the path to solar for condominiums, faith-based organizations, and other nonprofit organizations interested in solar.

The session will be a panel event that brings together technical and financing experts that cover a range of issues important for nonprofits to consider when implementing a solar project. They will focus on the gamut of approaches to system design and interconnection – from net metering to community solar to virtual connections – and which are best suited for nonprofit organizations.  They will also focus on financing strategies to implement projects – from outright purchase models like the Green Bank or C-PACE to third-party models like Power Purchase Agreements.  Finally, the speakers will draw in up-to-date legislative updates that are key for nonprofits to consider when implementing solar.
