  • Bert Hunter will serve as Chair of the Market Strategy and Innovation Committee.
  • Andrea Longton will serve as Chair of the Finance and Operations Committee.

  • Bonnie Norman, who just completed her tenure as the Board Chair, will serve as Board Vice-Chair.

This leadership transition coincides with a significant achievement for the Green Bank, which just surpassed $140 million in total ever-to-date climate investment, the product of ramping up exponential growth over the last several years.

“The Green Bank continues to demonstrate a powerful upswing in investment and impact, especially over the course of this last fiscal year. I have been thankful to serve as a Vice-Chair during this time under the impressive leadership that Bonnie Norman has demonstrated as the Board Chair and Stephen Morel in his inaugural year as CEO. I am now excited by the opportunity as the incoming Board Chair to continue to deepen our impacts in the community,” says Marcene Mitchell, the newly appointed Montgomery County Green Bank Board Chair.

Mitchell will succeed Bonnie Norman, who served as Board Chair from fiscal year 2021 to 2024 and will continue as Board Vice-Chair for fiscal year 2024. Reflecting on her tenure, Norman expressed her support for Mitchell: “It has been a privilege to serve our remarkable community as the Green Bank’s Board Chair the past four years. With Marcene Mitchell as incoming Board Chair, I am confident the Green Bank’s momentum will continue to build as we strive to create a brighter future for all.”
