Our initial capital was provided by Montgomery County, which committed up to $14 million in funding from the Exelon-Pepco merger. We will leverage this funding in partnership with lenders and investors to bring more capital to the county to support clean energy improvements in the county. The result of our work supports the County’s goal to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions.
We have also been supported by philanthropic resources to advance our mission, establish our presence, convey the benefits of our work to Montgomery County residents and businesses, and promote the value of a green bank model, including throughout the State of Maryland.
