DESCRIPTION:Join us for the 10th Annual Montgomery County Energy Summit! \nThe annual Montgomery County Energy Summit offers cutting-edge education focused on the latest trends in green building\, energy efficiency\, and renewable energy in Montgomery County. \nMontgomery County continues to adopt policies and programs that move the building sector to an energy efficient\, low-carbon future in line with the County’s climate action goals. Such policies require additional buildings and types to benchmark and report energy use data\, set a framework for building energy performance standards that require most existing buildings to become more energy efficient over time\, require all-electric new construction\, and continue to adopt progressive building codes. \nThis year’s Summit will focus on preparing the commercial building community for compliance with energy benchmarking\, building energy performance standards\, and emerging building codes. \nDay 1 of the 2023 Energy Summit is designed for building owners\, managers\, and facilities staff. Attendees will learn about energy benchmarking and performance requirements for commercial buildings and resources available to assist in improving building performance\, including receiving utility incentives\, financing building upgrades\, securing building permits\, and installing electric vehicle charging stations. In the afternoon\, attendees can speak ask questions and receive hands-on support from subject matter experts. Energy audit demos will also take place throughout the day. \nDay 2 of the 2023 Energy Summit is geared to building and energy professionals and consultants\, though building owners\, managers\, and facilities staff are welcome to attend for a more in-depth discussion about County energy regulations and strategies to meet them. Day 2 will provide learning sessions on strategies and case studies from commercial and multifamily buildings. DESCRIPTION:Session – Innovative Solar Solutions for Nonprofits\nGBCI & AIA Approval Pending \nNonprofit organizations sit in a challenging position to take full advantage of solar benefits. From lacking a tax appetite to take advantage of tax credits to complexity of the internal capacity needed for managing a solar project\, nonprofits need convenient and attractive solutions for implementing solar.  This session will cover a breadth of innovative options that ease the path to solar for condominiums\, faith-based organizations\, and other nonprofit organizations interested in solar. \nThe session will be a panel event that brings together technical and financing experts that cover a range of issues important for nonprofits to consider when implementing a solar project.
