SUMMARY:Green Table Talks: Financing Your Sustainability Goals
DESCRIPTION:Green Table Talks: Series Overview\nReal Talks on Buildings\, Energy\, and Leveling Up Your Space \nLet’s get into it—Green Table Talks is where community meets climate action. Hosted by the Building Innovation Hub\, this three-part series is all about cutting through the noise and breaking down what BEPS (that’s Building Energy Performance Standards) really means for your building\, your budget\, and your block. \nWhether you’re a property owner\, tenant\, manager\, or just trying to figure out how all this energy stuff affects your space—we got you. \nHere’s what’s on the table: \nSession 1: Foundations & Fundamentals \nWhat is BEPS? Who does it impact? Why should you care? We’re laying it all out—no jargon\, just straight-up facts to help you understand what’s coming and how to stay ahead. \nSession 2: Practical Implementation Strategies \nFrom plan to practice—get the tools and tips you need to take action. \nSession 3: Beyond Compliance – Long-Term Strategies \nSustainability isn’t a checkbox—strategies to create lasting impact and long-term value. \nSession 4: Financing Your Sustainability Goals \nMoney talks. We’ll walk you through all the local programs\, funding\, and incentives out there—from DCSEU to DC Green Bank—to help you actually do the work without breaking the bank. \nThis isn’t a lecture. It’s a conversation. Pack your lunch\, pull up a chair\, bring your questions\, and let’s build something better—together.

SUMMARY:The Climate Mobilization : Making MoCo buildings climate friendly
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Tuesday\, February 4 at 7:30PM.\nCouncilmember Evan Glass\, MoCo Green Bank CEO Stephen Morel and others will share their views on the BEPS regulations that the County Council will vote on in February. Learn what YOU can do to ensure the councilmembers vote YES\, making our apartment buildings\, condos\, offices\, and other buildings healthier\, safer\, and more affordable! \nBuildings covered by these regulations produce nearly 25% of MoCo greenhouse gas emissions. The County Council is now reviewing and will vote whether to approve the regulations needed to implement the Building Energy Performance Standards (BEPS) Law that was passed in 2022\, requiring buildings to become more energy efficient.\nThe efficiency requirements will require most buildings to convert from gas to electricity\, since heat pump space and water heating are 3-4 times more efficient than burning fossil fuels. This will \n\nreduce energy bills\nimprove safety and public health\nsignificantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions\n\nThis benefits everyone in the county\, not just the residents and workers in those buildings. \nClick on the “Register on Zoom” button and join us at the TCM webinar on Tuesday\, February 4 at 7:30pm where we will learn about BEPS and how it can help us – but only if the County approves the regulations. We will introduce you to our Action Alert\, where you can directly email your councilmembers in support of the regulations. \nFor questions\, contact us at: montgomerycountyTCM@gmail.com \nPlease share this email with everyone who might be interested!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister on Zoom

SUMMARY:Montgomery County Energy Summit
DESCRIPTION:Session – Innovative Solar Solutions for Nonprofits\nGBCI & AIA Approval Pending \nNonprofit organizations sit in a challenging position to take full advantage of solar benefits. From lacking a tax appetite to take advantage of tax credits to complexity of the internal capacity needed for managing a solar project\, nonprofits need convenient and attractive solutions for implementing solar.  This session will cover a breadth of innovative options that ease the path to solar for condominiums\, faith-based organizations\, and other nonprofit organizations interested in solar. \nThe session will be a panel event that brings together technical and financing experts that cover a range of issues important for nonprofits to consider when implementing a solar project. They will focus on the gamut of approaches to system design and interconnection – from net metering to community solar to virtual connections – and which are best suited for nonprofit organizations.  They will also focus on financing strategies to implement projects – from outright purchase models like the Green Bank or C-PACE to third-party models like Power Purchase Agreements.  Finally\, the speakers will draw in up-to-date legislative updates that are key for nonprofits to consider when implementing solar. \nLearning Objectives\n\nHow should nonprofits think about solar system design and interconnection.\nWhat solar incentives are available to help nonprofits implement solar.\nWhat types of financing options are available within outright purchase vs third-party models.\nWhat are the steps a nonprofit should take in preparing to analyze and implement a solar project?\n\nSpeakers\nCindy McCabe\, Program Manager\, Montgomery County Green Bank \nHarry Warren\, President\, CleanGrid Advisors\, LLC \nLisa Walsh\, Commercial Solar Developer\, Solar Energy Services \nSonia Khanna\, Managing Director\, Sustainable Finance\, Congressional Bank \n  \nhttps://www.mcenergysummit.org/copy-of-valuing-home-performance-bar
